I set a goal to get outside this winter more often than I have in the past few years. It’s amazing how quickly a few weeks can go by and, while I’ve taken time to get to the gym, I haven’t taken time to enjoy fresh air and a nice long walk as often as I’d like to. It’s only January though, so fortunately I have plenty of winter left to correct this error.
Keeping up with a goal is exhilarating, so when we drop the ball it feels hard to get back on pace. Accepting our inconsistencies and still giving our best effort despite our imperfections is sometimes more challenging than never having to face the imperfection in the first place.
It’s such a relief to realize this, because I almost made the mistake of assuming that I failed when, in fact, I have plenty of opportunity to succeed. Plenty of winter left to walk. The sooner we loosen our grip on the concept of failure, the sooner we can continue to progress toward our goals.
Do you have any goals you’ve had a difficult time reaching?
What’s holding you back?
I found this video on youtube… it’s really invigorating. If you’re longing for warmer weather or are someone who enjoys listening to the natural flow of water, this will be a lovely treat for your soul. Enjoy.
On a final note, it’s day 4 of the #ishineyoushine challenge. Today’s prompt is:
“My favorite form of movement is________.”
I love many different forms of movement, including hula hooping. For today’s challenge, I am sharing an image of me enjoying a beautiful sunny day with my hoop.
I hope you had a great Thursday, sleep well friends. ❤
