Parsley: more than just eye candy

Hey Insiders! Welcome to the Well!

Anyone who occasionally dines out has probably noticed that green leafy garnish hanging out on his or her plate. It is parsley, and before you pass off this piece of eye candy as useless, take time to read some of the health benefits parley possesses.

Here’s what parsley has going on:

– Hair loss? Try rubbing parsley essential oil on your head – it could help reduce the loss of hair.

– If you experience aching joints, incorporate parsley into your diet on a daily basis. It has anti-inflammatory properties, which makes it useful for individuals with joint pain.

– Are you a tea lover? (I am!) Parsley tea can help promote healthy digestion.

-Parsley is referred to as a “chemoprotective” food by scientists because it could play a role in preventing the formation of cancerous tumors.

-Parsley is helpful in the regulation of blood pressure.

-Check out this list of vitamins parsley is packin’: B-12, C, A, and K – which can help you keep your bones healthy, repair your nervous system and boost immunity.

A friend to your kidneys: parsley helps your body to get rid of excess liquid, which promotes proper kidney function.

If you were someone who discarded parsley before, you should probably think twice about sending it away with the bus boy when you are out to dinner.  If you do not want to wait until you happen across parsley, you can purchase some from the grocery store and check out some of these parsley products:
